Plans which could lead to closing two major fire stations after 6pm have moved a step nearer today.
Falmouth and Camborne are the only stations in the county which are currently manned around the clock.
The proposals, drawn up because of county council budget constraints, are being opposed by the Fire Brigades' Union (FBU) and local people.
But the plans were voted through today at a meeting of county councillors and will now go out to a 12-week consultation exercise.
