A public exhibition is being held at Falmouth School today, Thursday, where details of the new roundabout proposed for Union Corner will be on display.
The Cornwall Council scheme would see a new single roundabout built at a cost of about £2.2million to replace the existing double mini roundabout at the junction of Trescobeas Road, Kergilliack Road, Bickland Water Road and Union Road.
A spokesman for Cormac Consultancy said: “The proposed roundabout will help to reduce congestion during the peak commuter periods and will provide for the planned growth of Falmouth and Penryn.
“The proposal seeks also to improve facilities for pedestrians and cyclists with shared use paths all around the junction.”
Cornwall Council will formally submit a planning application in due course when there will be a chance for people to comment on the proposals.
In the meantime, today's exhibition will be held between 3pm and 9pm and will give people the chance to see exactly what is planned.
