The husband of a pasty shop owner in Falmouth believes they are being targeted in a deliberate campaign, which has seen one window shot out, another smashed and car tyres slashed.
Tracey Hirst has the franchise for the two Oggy Oggy Pasty Company shops in Church Street and Arwenack Street in Falmouth – both of which were subjected to attacks last week which left two large window panes shattered.
Husband Simon, who works for Cornwall Ferries, is convinced someone is waging a vendetta against him and the family business.
“Both windows were deliberately smashed and one looks like an airgun was used and with the other it could have been a fist put through it,” said Simon.
“I’m sure we are being targeted and we may have an idea who is to blame for it.
“We have reported it to the police, but the CCTV cameras were not working at the time, so there’s little they can do.”
The attacks happened last Monday night, May 26, sometime between 5pm when the shops were shut after a day’s trading and 8am when staff turned up to prepare for opening.
The two acts of criminal damage follow on from an earlier attack which saw two tyres on Mr Hirst’s car slashed in the New Year.
Although six months ago, he is sure all three incidents are linked to the same culprits.
The latest incidents have left the couple out of pocket. “We are insured, but once you pay the excess it’s hardly worth claiming and we also suffered loss of earnings because the shop had to be closed for two hours while we cleared up,” said Mr Hirst.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area last week or who can identify those responsible is asked to call Falmouth police station by dialling 101.
