A road closure in Falmouth has been criticised by one of the town's councillors for being poorly managed.
A key section of Bickland Water Road has been closed between 9am and 3.30pm for over a week now, after work began last week to cut down a number of trees. Work is expected to continue until this Friday.
However, Falmouth town councillor Stephen Eva told fellow members at their meeting that he believed there had been "little thought" put into the closure, as it made residents of Budock drive miles around.
He questioned why the former single-track lane past St Budoc Church, running between Bickland Water Road and Vicarage Road in Budock, now shut off with barriers, could not have been temporarily reopened for two weeks.
Mr Eva said: "In foresight, if somebody used common sense and had the full barrier taken away for two weeks, the people from Budock could drive past the church - it would have been so much easier. Somebody should look at this. I think there was no thought put into that at all. It's just stupid."
