WITH high hopes of promotion, Hayle Lions were made to roar to beat a new look Truro team, with Phil Angove a very highly respected coach back in charge.
City played too eagerly at times and this cost them dearly with the referee handing out three yellow cards in the opening quarter. However, Hayle were unable to take any advantage.
Phil Angove managed to tame the Lions for long spells during the game before back row forward James Jago broke the deadlock to score wide out.
The Lions lead didn't last very long as back came Truro with a very good try, for speedy winger Ben Chenoweth, after the home team were found wanting.
With the wind advantage Truro continually tested the home defence.
However, the Lions had the bit between their teeth when Trezise set up a try for Liam Kearey at the posts and Paul Lello confidently converted.
Hayle then piled on more pressure and a line out drive saw Hayle extend their lead with a try by Neal Turner .
Truro hit back with spirit when Shaun Rose-vear scored and Martin converted but they were unable to prevent Hayle recording a well deserved win.
