WENDRON 3 TRURO CITY 0
TRURO City must be sick of the sight of Wendron after the Underlane club completed a Jolly's Combination League double against the champions.
"It was just one of those days," said manager Gary Pascoe. "From the moment Wendron scored and the chances that we had that wouldn't go in, you just had the feeling that no matter what happens it's not going to be your day.
"We played well enough, but I doubt we would have scored if we were there until next Saturday."
City began well and created chances with Lee Coxon doing well on the flank and shooting over the bar from inside the box.
Justin Miles thumped a shot against the post and a goal-bound shot from Luke Wort struck a Wendron player on the ground as all efforts to score were thwarted.
The home side took the lead in the 30th minute when a fierce 40-yard shot from Joe Cooper hit Miles in the face and flew past goalkeeper Andy Butcher.
Five minutes later Mike O'Neill added a second with a first-time shot just inside the upright.
City had the lion's share of possession in the second half, but were unable to find a way past the impressive Bryan Scoffin and five minutes from time Wendron secured the points when O'Neill tucked away Sean Johnston's cross.
City are again without no game on Saturday.
City: A Butcher, J Miles, R Ivers, P Baldwin, S Winnan, J Rowe, R Pope, L Coxon, L Wort, J Hoyles, S Hawke. Subs: M Moon, N Slateford.
