SALTASH UNITED 1 TRURO CITY 2
THIS Cornwall Senior Cup tie saw the cupholders taken all the way by a very determined and physical Saltash side.
City's injury problems started as early as the 13th minute after Power was cut down in his own area and replaced by Ludlam.
Seven minutes later came the real talking point of the half whenYetton's run took him into the box and as he was about to unload his shot was felled by a Saltash defender; it looked a clear penalty as Yetton was left spreadeagled on the ground but the referee ignored the appeals.
Two minutes into the second half Gosling also had to be replaced after another heavy tackle.
The stalemate was broken after 56 minutes following good work from Broad who released Yetton who held off a challenge to score.
The lead, however, lasted just four minutes after Stevenson could only parry a shot which was then dispatched into the net.
Saltash took the game to City and created several half chances but couldn't find the killer goal.
Eight minutes from time saw the best chance for City in normal time as the ball found Reski. His cross was helped on by the 'keeper to the far post and Yetton's head, but as the crowd anticipated a goal Carew somehow managed to stop theball from crossing the liney.
City enjoyed the greater majority of play in extra time with the winning goal coming in the 101st minute when Martin blasted the ball into the net following a corner.
