CLINTON SC A hold a five-point lead over Bell's Court in division one of the Mining Snooker League after last week's matches. Clinton A beat Pool 5-1 while Bell's Court had a 4-2 victory at Lanner.
Chris Wills took Pool's only point against the leaders with a black ball win over Graham Denning. Highlight of the match between Lanner and Bell's Court was a 50 clearance by the home team's Wayne Nicholls, with team-mate Dave Thomas taking their other frame.
Clinton SC B are having a great season so far, and lwon 4-2 at Leedstown. Two of their players played exceptionally well, with Jeff Goldsworthy making a 62 break and Darren Davey compiling breaks of 61, 29 and 21 to win his frame 111-1. Fourth placed Redruth RBL also won 4-2 against St Day, with Jamie Read knocking in a break of 52.
Redruth British Rail swapped places with Penponds in fifth and sixth by beating them 4-2. Bottom team Illogan continue to struggle in their first season back in the top flight and lost 5-1 at Playing Place. Their only success came from Chris Symons, who needed two snookers on the blue before his opponent fouled the black, allowing him to clear to the black to win.
Godolphin A had a bye in division two, but still hold a ten point lead over Camborne Conservative, who moved into second place with a 3-2 win at Four Lanes A. Porthleven slipped to joint third place after losing 4-1 at home to Perranporth Golf Club, whose Simon Pearce inflicted Dean Williams' first defeat of the season. Penponds beat Redruth British Rail (Julian Knowles 31 break) 3-2 to remain well in contention.
Four Lanes B and Illogan HI currently occupy the bottom two places, and have some work to do to close the gap. Both teams lost 4-1, with only Ryan Curnow (31 break) winning for Four Lanes B at Camborne RBL.
The clash of the two top teams in division three ended in a 3-2 victory for Redruth RBL Youth at Playing Place, thus ending Place's good recent run and giving the Youth team a three point advantage. For the Youth team there were wins for James Freeman, Jake Stewart and Shaun Wills, with Jonathan Crowle and Darrell Wilcock replying for Playing Place.
