HELSTON COLTS u11s 3 LUDGVAN u11s 0 HELSTON'S kick off on a fine day for football saw Helston on top form. After their first defeat of the season against Archbishop Benson before Christmas, Helston were in no mood to give Ludgvan the same opportunities.
A strong defence of Joe Norman, Lee Padgeth and goalie Matthew Quick kept the Ludgvan forwards at bay in the first half.
At the Ludgvan end their defence and mid fielders were kept busy protecting their goal from an impressive Harry Kelsall and Ashlee Garner who had their chances and a non- stop Josh Bosustow who had an excellent crack at goal which flew off the cross bar to safety.
After a goalless half Helston up their game in the second priod with Garner bringing out a fine save from the Ludgvan 'keeper.
Within minutes a build up starting at the Helston end brought Kelsall into play who passed to Bosustow who scored his first well-deserved goal.
Subs for Helston of Stuart King and Kelvin Buckley maintained the tempo with Buckley trying his luck at goal on a couple of occasions. On one particular re-bound the ball landed at the foot of Bosustow who snotched his second goal of the game.
After the re start Ludgvan had a few attempts on goal but to no avail.
Some easy saves for Matthew Quick and defending from Lee Padgeth and Joe Norman (who produced some good long distance throw ins) helped keep pressure on Ludgvan along with good build up play sending the ball forward and enabling more shots from Padgeth, Bosustow and Kelsall who put one of his into the net.
Helston's man of the match (because of their strong performances) was shared between Harry Kelsall, Josh Bosustow and Lee Padgeth.
Helston: Matthew Quick, Joe Norman, Lee Padgeth, Josh Bosustow, Alfie Hamilton, Harry Kelsall, Ashlee Garner, Stuart King (Sub); Kelvin Buckley(Sub);
