Enquiries are being made by police in Hampshire in an effort to locate dental records of a 44-year-old man reported missing to them and thought to have been in Cornwall at the end of December.
The move follows the discovery of a body on Porthtown beach last week.
The body, which had been in the water for some time, was found by a member of the public who asked staff at a nearby Bar to contact the emergency services.
