PASSENGERS on a Truronian bus were left shocked after two of its windows were smashed by an unknown attacker as it travelled through Crofthandy.
The incident happened at around 3.45pm on Thursday January 11 as the bus was travelling towards Carharrack, close to the Wheal Jewel travellers site.
An item was thrown or fired at the side of the bus smashing to large windows. PC Baxter Provan of Devon and Cornwall police said: "We are not sure what caused the windows to smash but potentially it could have been a bb gun or a catapult. Fortunately no one was hurt but it could have been far more serious had any passengers or staff been hit."
Police officers did carry out a search of the area but found nothing. PC Provan said that it was possible that some of the passengers may have seen who caused the damage.
If anyone did witness the incident or has any information in relation to the offenders they can contact the police on 08452 777444 quoting crime reference AC/07/169 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
