WITH the Spice of Life postponing their game away to White Hart A', it gave Red Jackets Eagles a great opportunity to put some daylight at the top of the Jolly's Camborne-Redruth Premier Pool League.

The Eagles did just that as they won the derby match against their own B' team 13-2 although the landlord Graham Stockell put in a great performance to claim one of the points for the losing side.

Camborne Cricket Club stay in third place despite going down 8-7 away to the Victoria Van Men for whom Captain Ron Hyett recorded a crucial win over Paul Gee in the final section. For the losing side, Cricket Club Captain Jo McGuire showed some great form and won all three of her frames.

In the closest battle of the week, home side Tricky Dickies went 5-0 up over Illogan RBL before RBL's stand-in captain Paul Metcalfe masterminded a great comeback to tie the scores at 6-6 with three frames left to play. Despite the fight back, it wasn't to be for the away team and wins for Tricky's captain George Richards and Robert Drew enabled their side to clinch the match 8-7.

Waggoners Arms made it six wins in a row as they came through a potentially tough match to run out 10-5 winners over Craig Woolley's Trevenson SC side. The mixture of experience and youth combined well as the Tuckingmill Tigers got back to winning ways with a 12-3 home win over White Hart B'.

The league would like to congratulate Red Jackets Eagles' Rob Goldsworthy and Gareth Ball for both getting through the trials and qualifying for the Cornwall Men's squad. Also, Camborne Cricket Club's Jo McGuire qualified for the County ladies side after going through their trials unbeaten. Not to be outdone, Tuckingmill Tigers' Luke Bartle has qualified for the County Youth side.
