Truro Colts began the match away to Newquay Hornets Colts with the wind and slope to their advantage.
Newquay defended really well whereas Truro did not take advantage of the elements and it was Newquay who opened the scoring with a forwards drive try and followed by a successful conversion.
Truro responded with a lengthy attack on the Newquay line and Jake Lytham scored in the corner for Dan Sargent kicked the conversion.
Ben Chenoweth had some great runs on the wing and 20y minutes into the game prop forward Paul Andrew scored for Truro withy a bullocking run through the Newquay forwards. The try was converted by Dan Sargent.
In the second half Newquay took full advantage of the wind and rain and equalled the score at 14-14.
Dan Sargent kicked a penalty to put Truro back in front followed by a Ben Chenoweth try to extend their lead to 22 points to 14.
Newquay, however, were very much in the game and hit back with a penalty and a converted try to move ahead at 24-22.
The last 15 minutes proved that all the effort put into the training paid off with the Truro forwards battering the Newquay forwards. Finally with one minute to go Newquay were penalised for ill discipline and a penalty kick awarded to Truro.
It was against the wind and to the left of the posts, but Dan Sargent kicked the penalty and the referee blew the whistle to end the match and leave Truro dramatic winners by the narrowest of margins.
