CLINTON SC A hold a six point lead over Bell's Court in division one of the Mining Snooker league after last week's matches. Redruth RBL in third place are ten points behind, but have a match in hand.
Last week Clinton A beat their own B team 5-1, with Scott Bray making a 62 break and Lee Richards, making a rare appearance, a break of 34. Dan Spry (39 break) took the B team's only frame. Bell's Court led Leedstown 4-0, including an impressive 132 total clearance from club professional Andy Hicks, but Leedstown pulled back the last two frames through Doug Oats and Matthew Cook.
Redruth RBL beat Breage 6-0, sending them towards the relegation zone. For RBL Richard Pearson made a fine 74 break and there was a contribution of 37 from Alan Hurley. Redruth British Rail, in fourth place, took their third successive victory by beating Playing Place 4-2, while both bottom teams, Pool and Illogan, gave themselves some hope by drawing with St Day and Lanner respectively.
Godolphin A continued their unbeaten run in division two by winning 4-1 against Camborne RBL, with Chris Timmins again on the mark with a 44 break. Keith Barker took Camborne RBL's only point. Godolphin now hold an 11 point lead over Penponds, who also won 4-1 at Perranporth Golf Club. Matthew Williams knocked in a great 60 break for Penponds. Four Lanes B beat Illogan, who are just above them, 3-2.
