Traffic restrictions will be in place across Falmouth and beyond over the four days of the regatta to ensure pedestrians stay safe and roads do not become clogged with cars.
With thousands of people expected to flock to the port, organisers are encouraging visitors to leave their cars at home and make their way in on foot or by using public transport.
For those who do bring vehicles, extra car parks are being created while others are closed for the duration. Additional no waiting restrictions will be applied at various locations across the town and in St Mawes and Flushing.
The main street closure will operate through the town centre, from Market Strand to the docks, between 11am and 11pm across all four days.
Church Street car park will be closed from 6pm tonight until 11pm on Sunday, and Bar Road car park closed from 8am tomorrow until 8pm on Saturday.
Pendennis Point car park will be closed from 6pm on Saturday until 7pm, Sunday although there will be limited spaces for blue badge holders. The town's other long and short stay car parks will be open as normal.
There will be the usual half hourly train service from Truro, but there will be an additional third coach which will mean Falmouth Town Station will be closed during the regatta as it cannot accommodate the longer train.
Usual bus services will operate with additional capacity where required, and there will be an additional service from Penzance and Helston to Falmouth on Sunday to cater for those wanting to see the Parade of Sail. The Falmouth shuttle bus will operate a special timetable and amended route.
Ferries will run from Prince of Wales Pier to the docks to take visitors to the ships and St Mawes Ferry will operate as usual with an extended service from Custom House Quay until 8.30pm across the four days. Enterprise Boats will also provide five ferries a day from Truro, but not on Sunday.
Park and ride facilities will operate between 9am and 7pm daily from Ponsharden, (which will not be offering its park and float service), and from 11am until 11pm, Thursday to Saturday, and 9am until 6pm on Sunday, from Penryn Rugby Club.
There will be disabled parking at Ships and Castles with |pre-booked tickets costing £8 and at Pendennis Point, which carries a £2.50 booking fee. Both can be pre-booked by calling 01326 212129.
The Parade of Sail can be seen from around the coast so temporary car parks will be operating at St Mawes Football Club, St Mawes Newton Farm, St Anthony Head, where the National Trust car park will be closed, and Rosemullion Head.
Falmouth Golf Club is also opening the cliff top area of its course on Sunday for its members and also the public where there will be a cliff top bar and barbecue will be open for all to enjoy.
Entry on to the course is free and car parking will be available on the former driving range near the club house at £5 per car.
Further details can be obtained by calling 01326 314296.
