Thousands more people are expected to flock to Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta 2014 today with visitors being asked to leave their cars at home.
Over 45,000 people attended the event yesterday with 21,000 people going on boards the tall ships in the docks.
With crews changing over today access to the tall ships may be slightly restricted although all the ships are open to the public until 8pm tonight but not tomorrow.
"If you can, please leave your car at home and walk, use the extended and increased train and bus services, car share or use Park & Ride." say organisers. "You could even make a day of it and use one of the Fal River ferries to Falmouth, or just take the ferry from Prince of Wales Pier to the docks."
Rail Trains from Truro will operate a half-hourly service throughout the day with later trains and three coaches per train. A special timetable is available on First Great Western’s website. Falmouth Docks station is a few minutes’ walk from the ships.
Due to the longer length of the train, Falmouth Town station will be closed from 28 – 31 August.

Bus Usual bus services will operate with additional capacity where required. The Falmouth Shuttle bus will operate a special timetable and amended route.

Ferries There will be a ferry from Prince of Wales Pier to the Docks during the docks opening times.Adults £4.00 RTN and £2.00 SNG; Child £3.00 RTN and £1.50 SNG; Family Return only, £10.00 (up to 2 adults and 3 children).
St Mawes Ferry will operate as usual, and will provide an extended service from Custom House Quay until 2030 from Thursday to Saturday.
Enterprise Boats provides 5 ferries per day from Truro, but will not operate on Sunday 31 August.

Park & Ride Ponsharden (TR10 8AB) - Bus operates 0900 – 1900 daily. Car Park open until 2300. Ride only (no float). £5.50 parking including transport for up to 7 people. Drop off location: The Moor Penryn Rugby Club (TR10 8NT) – Bus operates Thursday 28 – Saturday 30 August 1100 – 2300 daily. Sunday 31 August 0900 – 1800. £7 parking including transport for up to 7 people. Drop off location: bus stop Melvill Road near Falmouth Hotel.
Road closures and Parking Restrictions Roads in Falmouth’s Town Centre will be pedestrianised on all four days of the event from 1100 to 2300. In addition, the area around The Moor is closed Thursday – Saturday evening 2000 – 2300.
There is no vehicular access for visitors to the Docks or to Tinners Walk.
Castle Road and Pendennis Point are closed from Saturday 30 August 1800 to Sunday 31 August 1900. There will be access to car parks only, see below.
To assist with traffic flow, extensive No Waiting restrictions will be put in place. Please note that Blue Badge holders are NOT exempt from this and cannot park within the restrictions. Signs will be put in place to show where and when the restrictions apply, and details will be available from this website. Please park responsibly, leaving roads clear for emergency vehicles.
Falmouth Car Park closures Church Street Car Park and Custom House Quay Car Park will be closed from 1800 on Wednesday 27 August to 2200 on Sunday 31 August.
Bar Road Car Park will be closed from Thursday 28 August 0800 to Saturday 30 August 2000.
Pendennis Point will be closed from Saturday 30 August 1800 – Sunday 31 August 1900, but will have limited spaces for blue badge holders (NOW FULLY BOOKED).
Other long stay and short stay car parks will be open as usual.
Disabled Parking (Falmouth) Ships & Castles (Castle Drive, TR11 4NG). Pre-booked tickets (£8) available from Ships & Castles on 01326 212129. A shuttle bus into the docks is provided for less mobile visitors during Docks opening hours. On Sunday, drop off will be at Pendennis Point (0900 – 1700).

Viewing Car Parks 31 August The Parade of Sail on Sunday 31 August can be viewed from places around the coast. There will be temporary car parks at the locations below. Toilets (including disabled facilities) and first aid facilities are available at all these sites.
St Mawes Football Club (TR2 5UJ): Field, £5. Shuttle service to village centre (donations).
St Mawes Newton Farm (TR2 5BS): Field, £10. Panoramic views over the estuary and entrance to Falmouth Bay.
St Mawes Castle (TR2 5DE): Limited parking available for visitors to the castle, £3 payable by all users. Available on a first come, first served basis.
St Anthony Head (TR2 5HA): Field, £10.
Note! The National Trust car park is closed because it will be used for viewing. Parking is being provided on private land so there is NO free parking for Trust members.
Due to the narrow roads there will be traffic restrictions between Gerrans and St Anthony Head. West-bound traffic only (towards the car park) between 9am and 1pm, and East-bound traffic only (from the car park) between 1.30pm and 4pm. Strictly no returns before 1.30pm!

Coaches Coach parking Falmouth’s usual coach car park at Gyllyngvase Beach will not be available for coaches during the event. Coach parking is at nearby Swanpool Car Park (TR11 5BG). Please book your space through hello@swanpoolbeach.co.uk. Charge is £15 plus VAT per day.
Coach set down points Coaches are not allowed to enter the Docks. Set down points are adjacent to the Maritime Car Park on Bar Road (Sat Nav TR11 3QY) and Berkeley Vale (town centre, TR11 3PH). For set down for ferry trips from Prince of Wales Pier, please contact the Pier Master on 07544 669228.
Please be aware that there is no coach access through the town centre.
