People clung to every vantage point this afternoon to watch the departure of the tall ships at the end of the Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta 2014.
Pendennis Point was the main viewpoint as ships of all shapes and sizes made their way from Falmouth Docks up the Carrick Roads and around into Falmouth Bay led by the impressive Polish training ship Dar Mlodziezy which got a great cheer from the gathered crowds.
People packed onto Pendennis Point right down to the water to watch the spectacular sight of the ships under full sail surrounded by a flotilla of small boats.
The ships will now race to the Isle of Wight before making their way to Greenwich for the final part of the regatta.
Don't miss this week's Falmouth Packet 12 page tall ships souvenir special. Out on Wednesday.
