Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth played host to a gang of “Frozenistas” on Saturday morning as fans of the hit Disney movie turned up in their droves in the hope of making it onto television.
A production company working for Channel Four arrived in town to film a “flash mob” style performance of one of Frozen's most popular songs, Let It Go, which will be screened on Christmas Day in a programme examining the success of the animated film.
Students from Falmouth University assisted production company Rondo on the day, with event management students helping with the filming and music and theatre students coordinating the main performance.
The wider community had also been invited to get involved with people of all ages turning up to learn the choreography and perform the song. Many of the younger children arrived dressed as their favourite characters from the movie.
Town manager Richard Gates said ahead of the event: “Working in partnership with a production company on behalf of Channel 4, Falmouth University, the maritime manager (at Cornwall Council), the Piermaster and the Community Interest Company, the Town Team have secured filming on the pier.
“To have footage of Falmouth as part of this programme is a great coup for the town and another example of effective partnership working to ensure continuing national exposure.”
