CADBURY HEATH 0

TRURO CITY 4

TRURO City made it 20 straight wins in all competitions with a workmanlike performance against Cadbury Heath in the Toolstation Western League first division.

Although nowhere near their best, the result was never in any doubt.

City enjoyed the lion's share of the game on a good surface and started strongly with Yetton being brought down in the area for a penalty after just seven minutes.

Normally lethal from 12 yards, Yetton saw his penalty well saved, but Chris Reski was on hand to knock home the rebound and put City in front.

The White Tigers continued to push forward but the final ball was poor and too often left them down.

City doubled their lead in teh 35th minute when Reski squared the ball to Yetton to score his 45th goal of the season from close range.

The second half saw the game develop into a scrappy encounter with the visiting fans willing City on to their 100th league goal of the season. Tom Smith came went close after 49 minutes when his goalbound effort was cleared off the line and Power saw his header just creep over the bar seven minutes later.

The landmark goal was reached on 81 minutes when Scott Walker's free kick found Martin at the far post to head home.

The scoring was completed four minutes later when Watkins' tireless work saw him brought down by the 'keeper for a penalty and Kevin Wills stepped up to make it four with a fine finish.

City's lead is now four points with a chance to make it seven when they look to complete another league double away at Shepton Mallet, then all eyes will focus on Slimbridge with over 200 fans expected to travel.

FALMOUTH TOWN 1 TRURO CITY 2 JOLLY'S Combination League champions Truro City took a weakened side to Falmouth Town, but still managed to pull off a useful 2-1 win.

On a very uneven surface City had the better of a first half that was fairly scrappy and one of few chances.

Andy Dyer almost put City ahead with a good half volley, but Matt Prynn did well to tip the ball over the bar.

The 'keeper came to Town's rescue again shortly after when Lee Coxon ran on to Luke Wort's pass and shot from an acute that Prynn saved with his legs.

Andy Westgarth fought a lone battle up front for Town, but got little change out of a solid City defence.

Town survived another City attack when Jonny Ludlam's powerful shot-cum-cross struck the crossbar.

City began the second half well and took the lead in the opening minute when Matt Jose played the ball into the edge of the box to Wort who, with his back to goal, held off a defender and turned to hit a fine shot into the corner of the net off the post.

Ten minutes later City snapped up a second goal when Jose found Wort just inside Town's half. Wort went on a superb run that took him past several defenders before breaking into the box and going past two more defenders before setting up Dan Rogers to score with a simple tap-in.

Town pulled a goal back in the 71st minute when Westgarth ran on to a ball into the box to lob the ball over Butcher.

Despite the boost of a goal Town were unable to threaten an equaliser against a City side that defended very well.

"I was pleased to get the three points and I was pleased with the performance given that we were short on numbers," said City's Sean Tozer.

"I even had to go on for 35 minutes in the second half and that's something I don't really want to do with the London Marathon coming up in the next couple of months, but then somebody has to do it."

City: A Butcher, P Baldwin, R Ivers, J Miles, L Coxon, M Moon, J Rowe, M Jose, J Ludlam, L Wort, A Dyer. Subs: D Rogers, S Tozer.
