PREMIERSHIP leaders St Ives A recorded a useful 7-3 victory over West Cornwall Table Tennis League mid table Redruth A and have opened a 13 point lead over Falmouth Docks A who have a match in hand, writes Brian Nicholls.

Austin Chapman scored all three wins for Redruth with hard-fought victories over John Bassett, Mathew Trevorrow and Mike Fisher.

Harris Mill B enjoyed their visit to St Ives C in division two running out a 7-3 victory. This result leaves St Ives trailing Falmouth Dock E by eight points at the foot of the table.

Leaders Falmouth Watersports A consolidated their position with an impressive 8-2 victory over Redruth C despite Redruth fielding an experienced side.

The division three top-of-the-table clash between Peoples Palace H and Mounts Bay resulted in a 5-5 draw - only four points separate the two teams. The mid-table clash between the ladies of Cape Cornwall and Mylor C also resulted in a draw.

Cornwall College B forged ahead in division four after recording 8-2 and 9-1 victories. They lead by 28 points but chasing St Ives D and Penryn College D both have a match in hand.

Falmouth Docks F recorded a fine 9-1 victory away to Harris Mill C in a mid table encounter with only Tom Rhys winning for the home side.
