THE finalists for the Western Section of the Cornwall Junior Cup have been narrowed down, but only just after Saturday's area semi-finals.

Praze held cup favourites Porthleven to a 1-1 draw in a very competitive encounter.

Praze took a first half lead through, but the Fishermen equalised in the second half through Danny Williams.

Port had the best chance to win it with a penalty, but Barrie Wyatt made a fine save from Paul Ainscough to send the match into extra time.

During that period both teams had a player sent off, Craig Firth for Port and Craig Williams for Praze.

In the other tie, Mawnan edged home 1-0 against Penryn Athletic.

Chacewater picked up an important 2-1 win against Falmouth Albion and Helston continued their good run with a 5-0 drubbing of St Agnes.

Mark Mitchell scored for Holmans Res in their 1-1 draw with Lizard Argyle and Ed Timmins netted for Wendron in their 1-1 draw with Truro City III.

St Keverne are the form team in division two and collected another three points from a 2-0 win at St Day.

Iewan Boon scored the only goal in Perranwell's 1-0 win against Perranporth Res and Spike Hughes scored for Mawgan United in their 2-1 defeat at home by Hayle III.

Darren Griffiths, Daniel Konik, Craig Jacka, and Cy Prynn scored for Constantine in their 4-2 win against Marazion.

Pendeen were 3-2 winners against Wendron III with goals from Sean Sweeney (2) and Tom Ramsey and Rosudgeon defeated Carharrack 3-2.

In division three Ruan Minor bounced back to form with a 7-0 drubbing away to Hayle IV. Andy Giddins (2), Peter Johnson (2), Gareth Mason, Matt Mckeown, and an own goal were the scorers.

Falmouth Albion Res won 4-1 against Carharrack Res after netting goals through Matt Bevans, Keir Dent, Ben Lenderyou and Ross Hayden.

Ben Cox scored for Lanner in their 2-1 defeat by Stithians Res and Chris Calfe and Bill Campbell scored for Lizard Argyle Res in their 2-2 draw with Camborne Park.

Troon Res and RNAS Culdrose drew 0-0.
