HELSTON u12 9 ROSUDGEON u12 1
WHILST not at their fluent best, Helston under 12s created numerous chances in both halves and if it hadn't been for an in form and determined Rosudgeon keeper, the score line could have been very different.
Early goals from Ryan Williams and Callum Jones caused Helston to relax too much and not play their normal game, becoming too individual without exploiting the space their passing usually generates. Determined Rosudgeon defending also restricted Helston's forward movement but the defiant defence had little to do.
Some substitutions and positional changes re-balanced the Helston team and two further goals from Jakub Chambers and Matt Rosewarne saw the score move to 4-0.
In the second half, Helston's team play began to open up the Rosudgeon defence and more opportunities were put away as Helston's goal difference soared as Ryan Williams (2), Matt Best, Jakub Chambers and first ever goal for Josh Parkinson kept Helston in the driving seat towards promotion.
Special mention must go to the away team who never gave up and even at 7-0 down fought to score a goal their efforts deserved.
The all round play of Helston told as they deservedly won 9-1.
Helston: Dan Coleman, Tyler Morgan, Peter Crowther, Jason Williams, Ryan Bosustow, Matt Rosewarne, Jakub Chambers, Matt Best, Callum Jones, Ryan Williams and Ryan Dowe. Subs used Joshua Parkinson, Ryan Robertson, Luke Skewes and Jaron Morgan.
