THE Winter League number seven foursomes Stableford was played at Mullion Golf Club on Sunday when from a field of 40 players Trevor Gallagher and Stewart Boon scored 39 points to win the competition, writes Gerry Fitter.
They narrowly beat Martin Crampton and Jonathan Cox on 38 points. In third place and losing on a count back for second place was Ian McAllister and Wilf Hutchinson.
Results - 1, T Gallagher and S. Boon, 39 points; 2, M Crampton and J. Cox, 38 points; 3, I. McAllister and W. Hutchinson, 38 points.
A near "full house" of juniors returned some very good Stableford scores on a very windy Saturday, led by new vice-captain Alan Lieske, with a very creditable 41 points.
Results - Division One: 1, Alan Lieske, 41pts; Myles Summersall, 33pts; 3, Jamie Sanders, 32pts; Jordan Antrobus, 32pts (B.9) Division Two: 1, Jacob Rae, 38pts; Oliver Hickey, 36pts; Sam Orchard, 35pts; 4, Joe George,- 34pts (B.9) While playing in a Junior Greensome competition Jordan Antrobus achieved a "Hole in One" on the Par 3 11th hole at Mullion Golf Club.
Fourteen-year-old Jordan has been playing golf at Mullion Golf Club since 2005 and used a seven wood to score his hole in one.
