A man is in custody following the discovery of chemicals suitable to make explosives at a house in Hayle.
At around 9.30pm hours on Wednesday, officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team attended an address in Hayle where a man was arrested under the Explosives Act.
Found at the address were composite chemicals which, when mixed together, formed explosives, together with magnesium ribbon and igniter cord.
The scene was secured and bomb disposal experts were attending to make the scene safe for further searches.
The 29-year-old local man is in custody at Camborne Police Station.
