Cornwall Council is reminding residents who annually subscribe to its garden waste collection service that their current subscription will come to an end on March 31.
If people want to continue to have their garden waste collected, they need to renew their subscription as soon as possible.
Residents can renew their permits by:
Visiting www.cornwall.gov.uk/gardenwaste (from April 1, credit card payments to the council will incur a 1.74 per cent handling fee)
Calling 0300 1234 141 and renewing over the phone with a credit or debit card.
Visiting any of the Council’s one stop shops and pay in person.
The council said: "There has been an increase in the cost of the collections this year to help towards reducing the subsidy we have been paying for providing the service."
The new prices for 12 months are, £35 for a 240 litre wheeled bin, £22.50 for a 140 litre wheeled bin, and £16.50 for a reusable sack.
For customers who choose not to renew their subscription at this time, collections will cease from March 31, although the exact date of the last collection will depend on the normal day of collection.
Customers can still renew later in the year if they choose and the subscription will commence the following month, after the subscription has been paid, and will end on March 31 2016.
Last year, around 8,410 tonnes of garden waste was composted through the collection service.
