Contrary to any misleading first impressions here, Truro businessman and football fan Kevin Heaney has not fallen on hard times and been reduced to begging for donations to keep him solvent.
Rather, he is urging fellow Truro business people to get more involved in supporting the current Great Daffodil Appeal for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Posing with a couple of the charity's collecting boxes was his way of drawing attention to the need for more support from shops and offices in the city.
"I recently met some of the organisers of the Daffodil Appeal and was surprised to learn from them that Truro is very much an under-performer right now in terms of the number of businesses taking part in the appeal," said Kevin.
"The charity does a huge amount of enormously valuable work and next year it will be 60 years old. So they really do deserve a lot more support from the businesses of Truro and I urge my colleagues in the business community to get thinking daffodils straightaway."
