Flooding caused major problems for drivers this morning as heavy rain caused roads to become engulfed in water.
The downpour coincided with rush hour, resulting in treacherous driving conditions for motorists heading into work.
Low-lying areas soon turned into rivers, with Trewennack near Helston and large areas of Penryn particularly effected.
Trelawney Park in Penryn was half covered in brown, muddy water, covering the bottom of the play equipment.
Residents in the area also had to battle the water, with properties at Lower Treluswell having to be pumped of water by fire crews.
Similar problems were experienced at Four Cross at Treluswell and Silver Hill in Perranwell.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for Cornwall over the course of today.
A spell of heavy rain is expected, giving 15-20mm widely, and up to 30mm on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.
The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the latest Environment Agency Floodline and 'Flood Warnings in force'.
The Highways Agency can also be contacted for further information on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.
