House to house police enquiries are continuing today following the attempted abduction of a ten-year-old boy in Mullion.
Specially trained police officers have also interviewed the boy about the exact circumstances surrounding the attempt.
The incident took place between 5pm and 5.25pm on Wednesday, when the boy was delivering newspapers with a 15-year-old friend near to the village's police station, on the B3296.
As the pair walked along the road, a man driving what is believed to be a blue Vauxhall Cavalier stopped and got out of the car.
The man approached the boy and, grabbing him by the arm and collar of his jacket, attempted to drag him into the car. The boy lashed out with a newspaper he was carrying and ran off.
A police officer said the boy was uninjured but "very shocked" by the incident.
The man is described as aged between 20 and 30 years old, of slim build, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in tall, with short brown hair.
Anyone who thinks they may have information that would help with the enquiries is asked to contact the police on 08452 777 444, quoting reference number AH/07/222.
