Police who discovered chemicals suitable to make explosives at a house in Hayle have released a man on bail.
The 29-year-old man, who is from the Hayle area, was arrested under the Explosives Act after officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team visited a house at 9.30pm on Wednesday.
There they discovered composite chemicals which, when mixed together, formed explosives, together with magnesium ribbon and igniter cord.
The scene was secured and bomb disposal experts attended to make the area safe for further searches. The 29-year-old was taken into custody at Camborne police station, but has now been released on police bail until March 13.
Officers have stressed that no members of the public were in danger as a result of this incident, adding that they were not currently linking it to the current sequence of explosions in other parts of the country.
