Kenwyn Care Home in Truro is delighted to announce that their home's maintenance assistant, Henryk Karasiewicz has been short-listed in the Care Services Innovator category in the final of the Barchester Care Awards 2007.
Over 350 Barchester staff throughout the UK have been nominated for their contribution to the care and well-being of residents in a number of different categories.
Barchester is committed to developing excellence amongst its staff and the awards celebrate their contribution to the lives of many residents.
Five finalists for each category are being invited to sit in front a panel of judges later this month. The winner of each category will be awarded £500 prize money, up to £250 on a career development activity and a personal trophy and certificate.
Mandy Trotter, home manager of Kenwyn Care Home said: "We are thrilled that Henryk has been nominated for a Care Award. Everyone at the home is committed to providing the very best quality of care and activities for our residents, but it's lovely that those who work extra hard should be recognised."
Tim Hammond, managing director of Barchester Healthcare UK said: "I am delighted that so many staff have been nominated and short-listed for the Barchester Care Awards 2007. At Barchester, our residents are our business and without the unerring commitment and enthusiasm of our staff we couldn't continue to make Barchester homes such wonderful places to live."
Mr Hammond will be joined by Fiona Philips to present the awards at a special Awards dinner at Thistle Marble Arch Hotel, London on Thursday 8th March.
