A keen walker from Falmouth will be trekking over 300 miles around the entire coast of Cornwall to raise funds for Cornwall Search and Rescue.
Paul Miller, of Marlborough Avenue, is the deputy team leader of Cornwall Search and Rescue and says that the group needs around £15,000 a year for them to be able to continue.
After donning his best walking boots Paul will depart from Swanpool Beach on March 18, with his trek taking him along the south coast up to Plymouth, where he will be picked up and taken over to the north coast for the main part of the walk which will bring him all the way back to Falmouth.
Paul said: "It is important we raise this money to help keep the search and rescue team going, we are all volunteers and rely on donations.
"I do quite a lot of walking so I think I will be ok. My training is going well, I usually make a walk of about 20 miles and do that as practice."
Paul says he hopes to walk around 23 to 25 miles a day during the trek but it will depend on the kinds of terrain that he encounters along the way. He is aiming to finish the walk on March 30 back at Swanpool Beach.
He added: "I have been overwhelmed by the support I have received so far. We have been calling guest houses to find places for me to stay and most of them have said I can stay for free, which I am really grateful for.
"The search and rescue team have also been great and very supportive. Hopefully we can raise a large amount of money to keep the team going."
