A Falmouth pub has beaten off competition from across the country to be crowned Britains Best Premium Bar' for the second year running.
Five Degrees West, in Falmouth, A St Austell Brewery pub, won the prestigious award in recognition of its commitment to providing excellent customer service and successfully establishing itself as a hugely popular venue.
Five Degrees West, in Grove Place, Falmouth opened in May 2003 after St Austell Brewery transformed the building from a boarded up nightclub. The venue also won Cornwall Tourism's Pub of the Year in 2004.
Manager Justine Stockton has been with the bar since it opened and said she was delighted that the dedication and hard work of the pub's team had been rewarded.
Justine said: "I am thrilled for the bar to win the award again. It's such a great achievement for the whole team who work so hard in maintaining exceptional standards.
"We are always looking for new ideas and I believe that listening to what your customers want is what ultimately keeps them coming back."
"We also have strong values in sourcing local produce and 98 per cent of the food we sell is from Cornwall."
Judges praised the modern' bar, for its dedication to producing good food with local ingredients, the stylish interior and the management's commitment to developing staff careers.
James Staughton, brewery managing director said: "We were up against bars from all over the country, including some very fashionable venues in London, so for us to win the award for a second time was fantastic."
