Pupils enjoyed a voyage of discovery into space all from the safety of their Falmouth school hall.
Youngsters in every year group at Falmouth Primary School were treated to a virtual display of the planets thanks to former teacher Simon Ould and his unusual Space Odyssey.
Sitting inside a giant inflatable dome, which acts as a planetarium, Mr Ould explained the different planets and parts of the solar system using a light show.
When asked if pupils enjoyed the shows he said: "The proof of the pudding is in the big grins and the spontaneous applause. It seems to go down very well and I do have very good feedback."
Mr Ould, an experienced science teacher who has studied astronomy to degree level, developed Space Odyssey after seeing a similar dome show while a teacher in Surrey three years ago. He was so taken with it he left teaching to start his own planetarium shows, which he presents to children of pre-school age right up to A-level standard.
