Following a report on the Packet website yesterday and in the newspaper two men walked into Falmouth Police Station in connection with the disappearance a 28 foot yacht which was found abandoned at Pendennis Point.

The report about the yacht, which disappeared during the early hours of Tuesday morning, included CCTV images of the men suspected of taking it. The pictures had been obtained from Falmouth Harbour Commissioner's cameras.

The yacht, which belonged to local sailor Trevor Jones, was found adrift off Pendennis Point and a full scale search and rescue mission was launched to try and find its crew after fears they may have gone overboard.

It was later discovered that the yacht had been taken and the owner was safe and sound on dry land. The men who took it made off in a dinghy leaving the yacht adrift.

The CCTV images clearly showed two men on the Town Quay pontoons at around 2.30am on Tuesday.

PC Scott Pedlar, of Falmouth police, said two males came into the station in connection with this incident. "We can not reveal anymore at this time as inquiries are ongoing. It is hard to say if it the Packet's story had anything to do with what has now happened."
