TWO men have been arrested after a low speed pursuit through Camborne which resulted in a police car being rammed by the offenders.
At around 7.40am this morning officers in a marked police car attempted to stop a white Ford Transit van in Wesley Street.
After the driver of the van failed to stop a short pursuit at relatively low speeds of 30 to 40mph ensued.
Eventually the van was stopped in an unclassified lane between Mount Whistle Road and the A30.
The officers arrested the two men after deploying CS spray.
Before the van was stopped the driver rammed the police car and reversed into a residential property, fortunately no-one was injured.
The two men are now in custody at Camborne. One of the men has been described as a 44-year-old man from Redruth and the other is a 43-year-old man from Camborne.
A low loader will remove the van from the scene so that forensic examination of the vehicle can be carried out.
It is believed that there were cans of diesel in the vehicle, which have spilled on to the road and will have to be cleared up.
