A 44-year-old man from Redruth has been charged with several offences after a police chase through Camborne which resulted in police car being rammed.

On Friday (February 16) at round 7.40am officers in a marked police car attempted to stop a white Ford Transit van in Wesley Street.

Police officers arrested two men after deploying CS spray.

The two men were taken into custody at Camborne police station. One of the men has been described as a 44-year-old man from Redruth and the other is a 43-year-old man from Camborne.

The 43-year-old man was later released without charge and the 44-year-old man was charged with driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, criminal damage, failing to stop and possession of a bladed instrument.

He will appear at East Cornwall magistrates court this morning.
