HELSTON U12s 9

HAYLE PANTHERS u12s 2

HELSTON finished their league fixtures at home with this emphatic win. A slow yet deliberate start saw Helston regularly stretch the Hayle team down the right wing with Callum Jones in impressive form.

Frequently getting beyond his marker, he fired in crosses that were proving difficult to repel. It wasn't long before Matt Rosewarne opened the scoring from close range. Shots rained in, but the Hayle team remained determined not to concede too many in the opening half.

Eventually, Helston got a second as Matt Best engineered an opportunity for himself, as he broke free down the middle. But as much as they tried, Helston could not score again and the half ended 2-0.

In the second half, Helston took the game to the visitors and a smart cross from Jakub Chambers was finished by Ryan Williams sliding home at the far post.

Helston extended their lead from a free-kick, skipper Chambers firing the ball into the Hayle box and Matt Rosewarne clipping the ball into the back of the net.

Helston now began passing the ball round with pace and, as Hayle struggled to clear their box, Callum Jones stepped up to lash the ball into the net.

Next up was Ryan Williams for his second of the game as he burst through the rear guard and placed the ball between the keeper's legs.

Jakub Chambers then scored a fine individual goal as he came in from the right and smashed the ball well beyond the keepers reach. Then, as the home side thought the visitors had given up, a ball over the top eluded the home defence and left Dan Coleman with no chance.

Then the Helston team watched a weak kick from the home 'keeper land in centre field and the Hayle captain lobbed the ball back into the empty net.

Matt Rosewarne then got Helston's forward line moving again as he tapped the ball in for his hat trick, and then captain Jakub Chambers finished the rout with a clinical goal in the dying seconds. Helston are top with one game left, and a cup semi-final next week.
