Wendron u10s 4
Alverton u10s 1
THIS was an entertaining game, with Wendron putting on a great performance. Wendron used the tactic of simple football and it came to effect.
Wendron put on continuous attacking moves which broke down Alverton and gave Wendron scoring opportunities.
The first goal came within a few minutes of the first half, with Jamie Greet putting the ball into the path of Rubin Williams to blast home.
Alverton showed real spirit, but it seemed there was no way back when Ben Leech put Wendron two goals to the good going into half time.
Wendron then went three goals up when Jamie Greet shot from twenty yards. Alverton threatened to come back but was up against the solid defence of Bradley Hutchinson and Jake Harrison, not to mention the likes of the goalkeeper James Wignall.
Alverton's biggest threat was Liam Hunter, from the left wing, who caused Alverton a problem every time he got the ball.
Eventually the fourth goal came through Elliot Childs, who pulled off a great finish, but Alverton carried on their never say die attitude to pull a goal back in the last two minutesn.
Wendron: James Wignall, Bradley Hutchinson, Jake Harrison, Rubin Williams, Ben Leech, Liam Hunter, Jamie Greet, Jordan Oakden Matthews and Elliott Childs.
