HOLMAN HARRIERS 1 HELSTON COLTS 4 Helston's visit to Holmans began the team's three matches against each other to be held over consecutive weekends, this and the second match being league, and the third a semi cup final match to be played at Newquay.

The first game's final score will be a good indication of things to come. With this in mind, Helston were in a determined mood and quickly managed to put Holmans on the back foot.

With varied distance shots at the Holman's goal a couple of short shots from forward Ashlee Garner and a long distance shot from defender Kelvin Buckley produced Helston's first goal.

There then followed some end to end play and a good save from Helston goalie Matt Quick, but within a couple of minutes a low hard shot allowed Holmans to equalise.

From that goal on, the game became Helston's. A clever throw in from Lee Padgeth caused a mix up between the Holman's goalie and a defender with the outcome, an own goal.

Within seconds of the restart, Helston were on the attack with shots from Ryan Thomas and Alfie Hamilton. During a goal area scramble, from nowhere a lightening fast Josh Bosustow put the ball in the back of the Holman's net. To finish off a good first half for Helston, Lee Padgeth tried his luck with a long distance shot and scored another good goal.

Holman's second half kick off produced some fairly tight football which kept the ball in the middle of the pitch for a great deal of time. When Holman's did get close to the Helston goal, Matthew Quick pulled off some good saves and with accurate passing enabled the rest of the team to keep the pressure on Holman's. With several more shots coming from Helston, this day was unlucky not to have seen a higher score sheet.
