Youngsters showed the goodness of their hearts on Valentine's Day by taking part in a charity spelling competition at Boskenwyn.
Pupils at Boskenwyn Primary School raised money for CLIC Sargent, by carrying out a Spellathon.
Each child teamed up with the older pupil known as their "good egg chum" - who looks out for them during school hours - to test each other on spellings and see how much money they could raise.
The children were also allowed to abandon school uniform for the day and dress in the colour of their "tree group" - with each year group at the school being assigned a tree in the school's wild area that will grow alongside them throughout their time at the school.
Head teacher Drew Marshall Corser said: "The children had a super time together and we estimate that £400 has been collected."
He described this as an "unbelievable" amount to come from the spelling work of only 28 children at the school, as three children had been away on the day.
