STITHIANS 13pts LISKEARD-LOOE 21pts
IN this Cornwall Clubs Cup semi-final first leg match against high-flying Liskeard-Looe, Stithians found themselves behind in the first five minutes.
The visitors - with wind advantage - took an early lead thanks to a penalty kicked by Marcus Hill. Speedy winger Sam Grant then crossed just inside the corner flag to score the first try of the game.
With Ben Ashwin and Robin Cookson on top form it wasn't long before Liskeard-Looe added to their score. Hill put over another penalty and Hocking scored a try which was converted by the lively Hill. Martin Strick kicked a penalty for Stithians just before the interval.
Early in the second half centre Clive Pledger beat the cover to score a home try and Strick added the conversion. Hill then kicked a third penalty for Liskeard to secure the win before Strick threatened a Stithians comeback with a late penalty of his own.

ST DAY 53pts PERRANPORTH II 5pts With nine tries the Saints marched to victory, much to the delight of club president Mike Downing and score keeper Trish Lawry. Six of the winning tries came in the first half with every player contributing to the home cause. Matthew Downing converted four of the tries.
Kevin Pooley, with three tries, was named man of the match.
