THE Tuesday League of the Taylor's Tyre Service Carn Brea five-a-side league shows the top two breaking away with wins over their close rivals. Fryer had two wins - 6-3 against Star Inn Vogue and 5-3 over MJ Maintenance.
Star Inn Vogue won their last game 11-2 to end a three-game losing sequence. Redruth United led the league by two points by defeating Camborne Cricket Club 4-0 and then 5-1 against Trevu. MJ Maintenance collected nine points out of 12, the most notable was a close 4-3 victory against Star Inn.
The run-in for the finals night spots sees two points between third and fifth place.
The Thursday league saw two teams failing to show and Penmarth losing to Ferrets United 5-2 before redeeming themselves by winning 7-0 over basement team Capio Cornwall. They lead the table by one point over Bike Chain who won both their games - 6-3 against Autospray and 11-4 against St Agnes Veterans.
Ferrets United have marched in to the top four with their two wins, the last being 7-3 against Capio.
