ST AGNES 2 TRURO CITY 0
JOLLY'S Combination League champions Truro City came unstuck at Enys Park here they were beaten 2-0 by St Agnes.
After a slump in form earlier in the season, the "Aggies" have become one of the form teams and although City might have thought they were worth a point there was no complaints from manager Gary Pascoe that they came away empty handed.
"We had enough of the game to say we deserved a point," said Pascoe "but overall I thought St Agnes wanted the result much more than our players and I don't have any complaints about losing the match. They deserved their win because they worked for it."
The home side stamped their mark on the game in the 15th minute when Jamie Venables scored from a corner and then it need a good save from Andy Butcher to prevent City falling further behind.
City struggled to get their passing game together, but on the occasions they got into the box invariably they took the wrong options and rarely suggested they could find the target.
Luke Wort had just the 'keeper to beat but failed to hit the target and the home side caught City on the break with Brian Best heading in off the far post.
City huffed and puffed, but St Agnes showed enough resilience to hold on to their hard-earned lead.
