A brain tumour sufferer is hoping to raise funds to help essential research into the condition by holding a tea party near Helston.
Lindsay Ashmore from Trannack, who has previously raised £1,000 through people sponsoring her to shave her hair off, is once again set to raise money for Sam's Campaign, which funds research into the condition through the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.
This time she is holding an event as part of a national series of tea parties next Saturday, March 10, between 10am and 12 noon at her home at Tranvue in Trannack.
Lindsay explained: "Basically I just want to raise some more money for the Trust, because they do such good work raising money for research into brain tumours. I just wanted to help. People know a lot about breast cancer, for example, but not a lot about brain tumours and I think it's very important for people to have more awareness of the illness. It effects lives in so many ways."
She is asking people to bring a cake along to the event, which will then be sold to raise funds.
Lindsay is currently in the fifth month of a six-month course of chemotherapy to tackle her brain tumour, following a craniotomy and radiotherapy.
A spokesperson for the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust said: "The British drink more than 150 million cups of tea a day, so thi is an event that everyone will be able to take part in and enjoy."
