MEMBERS of the Penryn College's student council presented a cheque for £1,144 to the Cornwall Air Ambulance this week.
Senior prefects are tasked each year to nominate a charity which the school raises money for throughout the proceeding months and this year they chose the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Throughout December the school held various fundraising activities including the staff Christmas card donations, the Christmas Concert and the Senior Citizens party.
Also collections were made when the choir sang carols in Penryn town and the brass ensemble performed at local stores.
The pupils also had a chance to accessorise their uniform on the last day of the Christmas term including a student council non-uniform day in February this year.
The student council representatives are extremely pleased to announce that in total a sum if £1,144 was raised in aid of Cornwall Air Ambulance and a series of special assemblies were held this week to celebrate this achievement.
Paramedic Richard Whitmarsh, Iain Hooper and trustee Laverne Caddy visited the college and gave the pupils an insight into the twenty year history of the air ambulance and the work they do.
