HOLMANS 6 MULLION 2
IT'S not quite desperation times yet, but Mullion are certainly dicing with the possibility of finishing in the bottom two places of the Jolly's Combination League.
After conceding another heavy defeat they will find they have no escape route if they do not start to pick up some points.
Despite their dismal run of results, there is still hope because there are several sides above them who are within three or four points, but they do need to kickstart their season.
Although they were out of it by half time, stand-in goalkeeper Andy Sharp did well and had no chance with any of the goals.
As in the previous games the result was determined by half-time with Mullion performing true to type and never getting to grips with the game.
It was all too easy for Holmans, with Lee Burns and Mark Perry grabbing a couple of goals each and Adrian Hart scoring the other.
Mullion pulled a goal back just before the break when Matt Fox provided the cross for Rob Carey to score.
Mullion gave a much better account of themselves in the second half, and although Hart grabbed a sixth goal for Holmans, Chris Lawrence snapped up a second for the visitors with a well-struck shot from outside the box.
Mullion: A Sharp, B Tremaine, D Meagor, B Stidwell, M Buchanan, C Harrison, G Harris, C lawrence, M Fox, R Carey, A Ashton. Subs: L Chapman, J Legg.
