The line-up for this year's traditional Father's Day treat, the Helston Motor Show, has been announced and promises to be bigger than better than ever before.

This year's event, sponsored by Packet Newspapers, takes place on Sunday, June 17 and while it may fall on Father's Day, organisers have promised that there will be fun activities for the whole family to be involved in.

Some of the main attractions include performances and displays from Helston School Jazz Orchestra, Dougie Bray's Car Stunt Show, the Culdrose Volunteer band and the Arabian Dancers, with many more acts yet to be confirmed.

On the trade stands there will be varied selection of goods on offer from both local and national businesses, while Parc Eglos School will again provide a range of interesting and good value stalls catering for younger children. For the braver and older children - as well as adults who are young at heart - fairground rides will be available to enjoy.

Putting the "motor" into "Motor Show", around 20 main dealerships are set to attend the event to display their latest vehicles, while 150 classic cars of all different types - from tractors to lorries, fire engines to Austin Sevens - will give a taste of what has come before.

Having built up an appetite, visitors can then sample the full catering services on site, which will include a pig roast and plenty of pasties.

The showground is on Helston Community College sports field, opposite Helston Leisure Centre. All proceeds from the event will be split between Helston Community College and Parc Eglos Primary School.

Free car parking is available on the lower sports pitches, accessed from Helston Leisure Centre car park, while disabled car parking will be provided opposite the Centrepoint Youth Club, in the school staff car park.

The show takes place between 10.30am and 5.30pm and costs £3 per adult and £1 per school age child.
