The first community open day in Mullion has taken place to great success.
Held at Mullion Youth and Community Centre in Nansmellyon Road, the event was aimed at encouraging residents of the village and outlying areas to take advantage of the services that were on offer.
Attending the event were representatives of various organisations, including Mullion parish council, the village's comprehensive and primary schools and churches, as well as services that cover every age group, from Age Concern to the Toy Library.
In addition, Coastline Housing - which works with the Redannack Estate Residents Association in the village - attended, while the Community Energy Plus stand proved to be very popular after handing out free energy saving light bulbs.
Sarah White, from the community centre, said: "It's the first time we have ever done it and we did very well indeed. Lots of people came throughout the day. It was a very nice day and I was very pleased with how it went."
The event proved so successful that another one is now being planned and Ms White encouraged organisations who did not take part but would like to be involved next time, to contact her at the community centre on 01326 241552.
