The bubbly was flowing once again at a Helston charity shop this week as staff celebrated another fundraising milestone.
Margaret Fitter and colleagues at the Cancer Funding for Cornwall shop in Coinagehall Street - formerly the Macmillan Nurses charity shop - were marking having raised an incredible three-quarters of a million pounds since Mrs Fitter first began raising money for cancer patients back in 1991.
Of the £750,000 generated, almost £490,000 has been given out in grants to help cancer sufferers and their families.
Having operated in the past under the umbrella of Macmillan, Mrs Fitter set up her own charity earlier this year, allowing her to continue her former role, and also to support cancer patients in Cornwall who were not being cared for by a Macmillan nurse.
Mrs Fitter, who also celebrated her birthday on Sunday, said this week she was "hugely grateful" to all those who had supported her over the years, and hoped people would continue to do so in the future.
