Tony Blair appeared to be special guest at a film premiere in Porthleven on Friday, as children from the port donned their finery for the first showing of a special series of films.
The evening marked the premiere of four films put together by the Porthleven Twinning Association, who had organised a series of events in which youngsters, many of which were from Porthleven Primary School, re-enacted the wreck of the Torrey Canyon - a tanker carrying oil that wrecked off the coast of Cornwall in 1967, causing a major environmental disaster.
Although it later transpired that Mr Blair was actually a very convincing look-a-like, the evening was still a decidedly showbiz affair, held at Porthleven Public Hall.
The event was one of a series of activities organised by the twinning to celebrate their Breton guests, who travelled from France to Porthleven for a visit.
On Sunday there was a parade through the port, again involving local schoolchildren waving banners they had made in workshops earlier that week, while on Monday the French guests posed with their Porthleven hosts for memento pictures.
